1930s Federal Glass Green UV-Reactive Optic Sherbet Dishes – Set of 6

Set of six vintage green footed sherbet or dessert dishes attributed to the Federal Glass Company of Columbus, Ohio. Four dishes bear Federal’s molded “F” inside a shield maker’s mark on the underside, while two are unmarked but match the marked examples in form, color, size, and molded optic-panel design.

The dishes feature flared paneled bowls, rolled rims, short pedestal bases, and round feet. Their styling and construction are consistent with Depression-era Federal Glass tableware, likely dating to the 1930s.

All six display a vivid green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. This reaction is consistent with uranium-containing glass; however, the glass has not been independently analyzed, so the set is described conservatively as UV-reactive uranium glass.

One dish has a prominent crack extending through the bowl to the rim and is included for display or collection only. It should not be used for serving. The remaining five show expected vintage wear and should be reviewed for any small rim or foot imperfections before shipment.
