Vintage 1963 Coleman 220E Double-Mantle Green Lantern with Box & Paperwork
Vintage Coleman Model 220E double-mantle liquid-fuel lantern in the classic green enamel finish. The bottom date stamp appears to read 63, consistent with June 1963 production. The lantern retains its Coleman-marked glass globe, carrying handle, fuel cap, pump, control assembly, and green porcelain-enameled ventilator.
Included are the heavily worn Coleman 220E195 retail box, assorted Coleman instruction and service papers, and a later package of Silk-Lite 21A mantles. The box and paper materials add visual and collector interest but are in fragile, distressed condition.
The lantern is offered untested. It shows substantial storage and use wear, including dirt, soot and discoloration inside the globe, deteriorated mantle remnants, enamel scratches and chips, light surface oxidation, and tarnishing on exposed metal. The box is crushed, torn, stained, and taped, while the paperwork has staining, tears, and missing edge areas. No claim is made that the lantern is presently safe or functional. It should be inspected and serviced by someone familiar with vintage pressurized-fuel appliances before any attempt to operate it.
Included items are limited to what is shown in the photographs. The replacement mantle package appears newer than the lantern and not original to the 1963 set.
Fuel tank has not been inspected and may contain old fuel or fuel residue. Lantern is untested and must be emptied, inspected, and serviced before use. Local pickup only.
