Vintage Brass Fireplace Fire Starter Smudge Pot with Pumice Wand

Vintage brass fireplace fire starter, also known as a smudge pot or firelighter, complete with fitted lid, bail handle, three ball feet, and long-handled porous stone wand.

Traditionally, the vessel held kerosene or lamp oil so the porous wand could absorb fuel and be used to help ignite a wood fire. Measures approximately 4.75 inches across the opening, 4.2 inches tall to the lid, and 8 inches tall with the handle raised.

Displays substantial vintage patina, tarnish, scratches, spotting, surface wear, and dark residue from previous use. The interior and stone wand show especially heavy darkening consistent with its original purpose. Sold as a vintage decorative and collectible hearth accessory; functionality with fuel has not been tested.
